HAWE Cares helped make a difference in the community on Saturday, October 29th, by participating with Habitat for Humanity. Equipped with a hammer and boxes of nails, HAWE Hydraulik employees put on their hard hats, gloves and safety glasses and jumped into constructing all interior walls, adding insulation and building temporary scaffolding for a new construction home located on Ross Street in Charlotte, NC. All the work accomplished on Saturday assisted the Habitat crew get ahead of schedule on this project.
The work done by Habitat volunteers reduces the purchase price of these homes by ~20%. The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes, and no-profit loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.

This was the second off-site initiative where HAWE employees chose to give up a Saturday and put in some hard work to help those in need. The HAWE Cares Committee are very pleased with the success of this initiative and will plan to assist Habitat for Humanity again in the future. A very special thank you goes out to all who participated!
