Abstract:
Machine tool manufacturers are obliged to develop safe machine tools, as specified by various statutory regulations, in particular the DIN standard ISO 13849. Potential safety risks that might originate from a machine must be reduced to a tolerable degree by implementation of technical safeguards. This white paper addresses how such safeguards can be incorporated into the hydraulic controls of machine tools for metal removal.
Contents:
- Potential hazards of machine tools for metal removal
- Necessary performance level for the clamping function
- Simple hydraulic switching arrangements for clamping functions with performance level "c"
- Double-channel hydraulic switching arrangements for clamping functions with performance level "d"
