Measured signal

Representation of measured variables in the path of the signal flow by means of allocated physical variables of the same or a different type.

The value for the measured signal (signal value) read off at the output of a measuring device and specified in units associated with the variable to be measured is known as the measured value. Depending on the position of the measured signal at the input or output for the measuring element under consideration, a distinction is made between an input signal and an output signal (VDI 2600).
