Closed circuit
Basic design for a hydraulic drive in which the fluid circulates from the pump to the actuator and from there straight back into the suction line of the pump. The main difference between this and an " [...] " open circuit " is that the hydraulic pump in a closed circuit is fed directly by the hydraulic fluid returning from the actuator (hydraulic motor). This effectively "clamps" the pump from both the suction
Rotary piston
mostly a rectangular cross-section that is fastened to the shaft and to which a flow of hydraulic fluid is applied.
Feed height
Fluid level height above an inlet or outlet opening. In the case of a negative inlet height, the suction pressure for pumps is lower than the ambient pressure (Figure Z 8).
Piston pump
Hydraulic pump in which the pressure fluid is displaced by one or more pistons . Pistons may be arranged in a row or aligned radially or axially in relation to the drive shaft.
Compressibility
Characteristic whereby every genuine fluid reduces in volume under pressure. The compressibility associated with mineral oil is also dependent on the temperature and the kind of change of state involved
Gas filling pressure
Gas pressure that is applied to a fluid vessel with or without separator. On hydraulic accumulators the gas filling pressure corresponds to the precharge pressure. Example: hydropneumatic accumulator
Filter
The main function of the filter is to hold back undissolved foreign particles in hydraulic fluid. This makes it an important part of any hydraulic system. The aim of filtering is that The wear on moving [...] control spools and therefore interruptions in operation are prevented; The ageing of the hydraulic fluid due to chemical processes as a consequence of contamination is slowed down. Filtration is more important
Durchflussverteilung (Flow Sharing)
The flow rate distribution ensures a continuous fluid supply to the hydraulic consumers independent of the pump capacity. With the help of pressure compensation, the oil flow to the consumers is proportionally [...] undersupplied by the pump. Each valve section has its maximum flow rate. Without flow distribution, the fluid will choose the path of least resistance if the pump cannot provide the required flow. This can result
ISO
standards institutes whose technical committee TC 131 works on all standardisation tasks associated with fluid technology. The resulting ISO standards are either adopted directly (DIN ISO ...) or incorporated
Remote control
Control system on which the operating position is separate from the fluid technology systems such that the operating elements need to be operated over a greater distance. Operation can be using both hydraulic
