Changing the stationary characteristic curve for a device by modifying the input signal in order to compensate for non-linearities, reduce hysteresis and the like.
This kind of correction can involve additions, multiplications or substitution (Figure K 9). It takes place during signal processing and tends to be much more successful using digital rather than analogue means.
