Flow coefficient Kv (Kv value) of a valve
Defines the quantity of water in m3 (L) that flows through a valve in one hour (minute) with a pressure drop of 1 bar (VDI 2173). The Kv value is therefore a parameter for the selection of valve sizes
Residual oil content (PN)
content is stated in mg/m3 of pressure-released compressed air. Occasionally, it will also be stated in ppm (weight unit of oil per million weight units of air): 1 ppm ≈ 1.2 mg/m3.
Flow in pipelines
limiting surface. Here the isothermic flow results in a parabolic velocity curve where v max = 2*v m (v m is the mean flow speed). The flow remains below the critical flow speed here. This type of flow is [...] of the fluid flow pattern l a = 0.03 d i · R e (for example 20 mm internal pipe diameter approx. 1.3 m) compared with just 10—20 d i for turbulent flows, most pipelines have a turbulent flow. (d i is the [...] filaments mix. The velocity profile is flatter and therefore for isothermic flows it becomes v max = 1.2*v m . As of a certain flow speed, which depends on the pipe diameter and the viscosity, the fluid becomes
Mechanical feedback

Response sensitivity
has 25—1 = 31 steps between zero and maximum, i.e. a resolution of 3 %. The response sensitivity of a proportional valve from 0.2 to 0.3 % corresponds to 200 to 500 steps between zero and maximum. If the [...] the same direction in which the static point was approached (Figure A 21). The parameter is stated in mA or in % of the nominal current (DIN 24 311). The term can best be explained using digital technology:
Kv value (of valves)
Flow in m3/h of water at +5 to +30°C passing through a device (valve) in a given direction based on a pressure drop of 1 bar and an upstream pressure of 6 bar. The practical benefits of the Kv value (of
Hydraulic cylinder
ranging from just a few N to up to 300,000 kN during strokes ranging from just a few cm to over 20 m. There are 3 basic designs available: single acting cylinders and double-acting cylinders with 1 or 2 piston
Proportional valves
— are not particularly sensitive to contamination (e.g. recommended filter unit 25 μm compared with 3...5 μm) and therefore more durable from an operational perspective. The various groups are distinguishable [...] valves :As in conventional hydraulic systems , there are throttle valves ( Figure P 27 ) and 2-way and 3-way flow control valves . Here, the throttle ( measuring throttle ) in the form of a 2/2-way or 4/2-way [...] performed by proportional directional valves. Proportional direction valves :Generally designed as 4/3-way valves and directly controlled in NG 6 and NG 10 ( Figure P 28) . In addition, NG 6 valves are used
