The understanding of some processes in fluid technology is improved if use is made of the analogies that exist between electrical and hydraulic laws.
Given specific boundary conditions, it is possible to set
elec. voltage U = hyd. pressure p and
elec. current I = flow rate Q
All further relationships are obtained via the physical laws of electrical and hydraulic technology, in particular the significance of hydraulic resistances (Table A 2).
These analogies can be used even on circuit diagrams and in some circumstances form the basis for bond graphs (Figure A 19).
