Special cylinder
designed for defined applications, where neither standard cylinders nor series-production cylinders can be used. This includes, for example, press cylinders or cylinders with an adjustable stop.
Cylinder
elements, the force can be applied at any point of the stroke and in any size up to the nominal force, the usable stroke can be changed as desired within the structural limits, the velocity can be adjusted to [...] (the most common form of a cylinder): With this approach, forces from just a few N up to 300,000 kN can be applied by a single cylinder during strokes ranging from just a few cm to 20 m. The set-up is very
Blow-by effect
"Blowing past" a piston seal. With large pressure gradients it can occur that the seal is not pressed against the sealing surface, instead it is pressed into the grove (Figure B 21) .
Trigger signal
Triggers the control process. It can be provided manually or by a process variable. In relation to its magnitude and its change over time, agreement is required in both cases (DIN 19 226).
Modular system
parts from which functional elements of a varying nature, e.g. cylinders or valves and also machines can be assembled.
Null drift
for a measuring instrument or a machine as a result of external influences (e.g. temperature). It can be rectified by means of a null-adjustment signal.
Flow rate measurement procedure
principle with flow sensors with oval rotor assembly , measuring turbines or gear pump flow meters , which can take direct measurements ( Figure V 35 ). In addition, the dynamic pressure principle (dynamic pressure [...] pressure probe) and the variable area principle are used in fluid technology . They work indirectly and can be very small. Procedures for measuring the duration with ultrasound and lasers are still used as a
Resonance length
length required for stimulation at a certain frequency, i.e. the length at which a stationary shaft can form in the element. The resonance length plays a role in creating the noise.
Binary characters
Each of the characters from a character set of two characters. Any character can be used as a binary character, e.g. O and L, Yes and No etc. (EDIN 44 300 Part 2).
Sound in fluid
Sound that propagates in a fluid medium. It can have been, but has not necessarily been generated in the fluid. The propagation velocity for mineral oil in steel pipes is approx. 1,300 m/s.
