Munich, July 30, 2026 – By integrating multiple double-pump elements (DMPE) into a Type R radial piston pump, HAWE Hydraulik is introducing a further development of classic two-stage technology. The new solution enables a significant increase in efficiency and offers greater ease of use. It replaces the conventional fixed switching point between the low-pressure and high-pressure stages with multiple finely adjustable pressure stages that can be set individually. This allows the hydraulic output to be adapted more closely to the actual load curve, resulting in more uniform pressure and flow characteristics.
The DMPE-based design also reduces the amount of structural work required, as the recirculation valves—which were previously connected via external piping—are now integrated directly into the pump elements. Depending on the requirements, three or six DMPE elements can be installed in the radial piston pump, allowing for flexible configuration of the two-stage drive. In practical use, this enables either a higher oil flow rate at the same motor power or operation with smaller drives without any loss of speed. Applications such as torque wrenches, rescue equipment, clamping units, and crimping tools benefit particularly from the optimized power output and increased energy efficiency—even during battery operation.
The Essentials at a Glance
Multiple DMPE stages replace the traditional fixed switching point
Finely adjustable pressure stages result in smoother pressure/flow curves
Integrated recirculation valves reduce piping requirements and overall size
Customizable with three or six DMPE elements depending on the application
Increased drive efficiency
Particularly suitable for torque wrenches, rescue equipment, and clamping and crimping systems
