Electric machines benefit from efficient hydraulics

Whether in snowplows, street sweepers, or garbage trucks, electric vehicles benefit from efficient hydraulic systems.

Whether in snowplows, street sweepers, or garbage trucks, electric vehicles benefit from efficient hydraulic systems.

April 20, 2026, Munich. Modern municipal utility vehicles face increasing demands for efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Energy-efficient hydraulic systems, combined with intelligent software and optimally coordinated electrification components, play a crucial role in meeting these demands.

  • Customized hydraulic solutions with intelligent control
  • Energy-efficient control blocks, motor-pump units, and system software
  • Electrification expertise from a hydraulics specialist

Intelligent system solutions from HAWE Hydraulik ensure that hydraulic power is delivered as needed for each individual function and in coordination with the pump. This minimizes losses, increases overall efficiency, and noticeably extends the operating time of vehicles using existing battery capacity.

With its modular product range and system expertise, HAWE Hydraulik offers solutions tailored to the specific vehicle type. These include our electrification components, such as IEP battery packs, high-voltage distribution boxes, DC/DC converters, and chargers, as well as the modular proportional directional control valve with onboard electronics (PSL-CAN), suitable motor-pump units (MPUs) with inverters, and corresponding system software. All components and system parts should be coordinated with one another and with the specific application.

Electrified vehicles with optimized hydraulic systems significantly reduce noise and exhaust emissions and enable the vehicles to be used even in sensitive areas such as city centers, residential areas, or during noise-sensitive operating hours. However, they must also be cost-effective for the operator over the operational period and therefore offset the higher purchase price of the vehicle through increased productivity and improved energy efficiency.

HAWE Hydraulik will be exhibiting at IFAT in Hall C6/150 from May 4 to 7, 2026.
