Digital measured signal

With a digital measured signal the unlimited number of values of the measured variable faces the limited number of values of the measured signal. A value range for the measured variable is therefore assigned as a whole to a specific signal value (VDI/VDE 2600).

The resolutionof digital signals is limited by the selected step size that, however, can be very small. However, more time is then also required for the processing. Digital measured signals are largely immune to interference.

Although digital signal processing is increasingly dominant, because the majority of measuring procedures in fluid technology are analogue, it is necessary to use an A/D converter.
