Fluid power standards
Responsibility for working on and drafting standards for fluid technology lies with the specialist fluid technology department at the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering [...] Engineering – NAM). They work on all DIN, ISO and DIN ISO standards. In addition, recommendations with regard to fluid technology are also provided by CETOP and VDMA, and there are VDI guidelines too. A very
Filter surface
area of the filter element that is subjected to the flow rate. To make this area as large as possible with given filter dimensions, the majority of are folded.
Rotary piston
Effective element of a limited angle rotary actuator with mostly a rectangular cross-section that is fastened to the shaft and to which a flow of hydraulic fluid is applied.
Frequency modulation
superimposing signals on a carrier wave on which the amplitude remains constant, but the frequency changes with the modulation. This includes above all the pulse modulation method .
Analogue technology
Collective term for all electronic signal processing and switching technology that has analogue behaviour with the characteristic that the output variable changes corresponding to the change in the input variable
Gauge protection valve
installed in the pipe to a pressure gauge which separates the pressure gauge from the pressure associated with the medium as soon as this exceeds a specified limit.
Cross-section dependent pressure loss
changes. The pressure loss factor ξ is required for the calculation. The pressure losses increase with the square of the flow velocity.
Linearisation
that a transfer element with a non-linear characteristic curve is supplemented to such a degree by the addition of further transfer elements that a new transfer element emerges with an overall linear cha [...] characteristic curve (DIN 19 225). A comparable process is shown in ( Figure L 21 ), with the linearisation of a displacement transducer by means of two coils, S1 and S2, in a regenerative circuit.
Programmed control
programs are implemented, with distinctions being made between hard-wire programmed controls with fixed program or programmable varieties and memory programmable controls systems with replaceable ROM or pr
Pressure-reducing valve (pressure control valve)
Q L in the secondary area. Pressure-reducing valve with secondary pressure limitation (three-way pressure-reducing valve) Pressure-reducing valve with a relief feature that prevents the pressure on the [...] Valve that keeps the (lower) outlet pressure (secondary pressure) p 2 constant even with changing inlet pressure (primary pressure) p 1 . This action is achieved by a valve cone, held open by a spring
