Phosphate ester
Fire-resistant hydraulic fluid based on esters of phosphates. It belongs to the group known as HFD fluids ; its fire resistance is can be explained by its molecular structure.
Reservoir expansion capacity
Gas (air) volume above the maximum fluid level in a vessel that is intended to absorb the expansion in the volume as the temperature of the fluid changes (CETOP RP 100).
Breather filter
Filter on the hydraulic fluid tank that filters the air flowing in as the pump draws fluid to prevent contamination by this route. Its filtration grade should correspond to that of the oil filter.
Decompression shock
then the compression energy stored in the fluid is suddenly released, as a result the compression volume at the start meets at high speed the column of fluid in the drain line and causes there a measurable [...] measurable and audible pressure increase ( energy content of a hydraulic fluid).
Temperature measurements in hydraulics
temperature of the pressure fluid in the tank. However, this method constitutes a rough estimate and does not allow conclusions to be drawn regarding the temperature of the pressure fluid at certain locations [...] the system. For example, the temperature of the pressure fluid may be very high at certain throttle points. If the temperature of the pressure fluid must be known at certain points within the hydraulic system [...] The temperature of the hydraulic fluid in hydraulic systems can be measured either with simple measurement devices (thermometer) or with a measuring device that issues signals to the control unit. The
Hydrostatic laws
technical fluids that behave in accordance with laws: The viscosity of a fluid, The compressibility of a fluid, The flow behaviour of a fluid, The hydraulic surge (compression surge) in a fluid. [...] acting on a stationary fluid generates a pressure that propagates in all directions with the same magnitude. This the basic law of hydrostatics . All force and pressure processes in fluids are based on this [...] this law. As the hydraulic fluid must be transported from the place it is generated (pump) to the place the energy is given up (motor, cylinder ), other laws of hydrokinetics need to be taken into account:
Throttle check valve
valve and such that the hydraulic fluid flow in one direction must flow through the throttle (and is reduced in the process), while in the other direction the hydraulic fluid flows unthrottled via the check
Kinematical viscosity v
kinematic viscosity indicates whether a hydraulic fluid is thin or viscous at a certain temperature, and therefore whether the friction between the fluid layers is lower or higher. This also has an impact [...] dynamic viscosity and a fluid's density: In hydraulics kinematic viscosity is the usual parameter for viscosity. This parameter changes with the temperature of the hydraulic fluid.
