Error tolerance

Statement of the insensitivity to errors/failures of computers that must operate “non-stop”.

Error tolerance is achieved by means of a redundant system tailored to the computer in which the sub-systems susceptible to errors are installed more than once and are switched such that the replacement components automatically take over the function of a part with an error. A self-testing system ensures that an error that has occurred is detected immediately.
