External gear pump on which, for reasons of noise reduction, two pairs of gear wheels are used that are offset in relation to each other by half the tooth pitch. In this way the delivery flow pulsation of, e.g., 14.3 % on a normal pump is reduced to 3.6 % (Figure D 88).
