Increasing the number of cycles and saving energy and resources at the same time do not have to be mutually exclusive. With dynamic servo drives, efficient control solutions and integrated solutions, HAWE Hydraulik offers the ideal modular system for machines in sheet metal working. At Euroblech in Hanover, the latest optimisations and particularly advantageous concepts in system design will be discussed.
The servo drive enables further potential for energy savings in press control systems both for the pump speed-controlled and valve-controlled drives from HAWE Hydraulik: Their high dynamics can increase the cycle speed of the press cycle and thus the overall productivity of the machine.
In the case of valve-controlled press brake systems, the application of a servo motor instead of an asynchronous motor can already achieve energy savings in the mid-2-digit percentage range. Existing systems can also be converted into servo drives, as the cylinder interfaces remain identical.
With the ePRAX® drives from HAWE Hydraulik, energy savings of up to 80% can be achieved compared to conventional press controls. Here, the servomotor dynamically adjusts the delivery volume and operating pressure to the actual demand. Due to the very short reaction time of the servo motors, the pressurization in the hydraulics takes place very quickly, which enables a significant reduction in cycle times compared to conventional systems. As an almost pipe-free Plug&Run solution, this can significantly reduce assembly and commissioning times for machine manufacturers or users and shorten downtimes in the event of service. With just a few simple steps, the entire hydraulic control of a press brake can be installed.
The matching electronic control is the digital valve amplifier type EV2D. In the field for over a year now, it has already shown that this control system works much more dynamically and reliably than the predecessor model. In addition, the EV2D with SIL3 meets the requirements for machine safety for press brakes.
