Submerged motor

Electrical drive motor for pumps, which is installed beneath oil in the tank and therefore does not require a closed housing or whose housing also performs the tank function, particularly in the case of mobile systems. It is cooled by the oil. Advantage: The noise from the motor is silenced.

Disadvantage: Power is lost due to the shear stress of the oil, in the gap between the rotor and the stator of the electric motor and churning losses.
