Karl Haeusgen is the speaker of the Board of Management of HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich. He has been in charge of Sales and Quality Management and Organization from 1996 to 2018. Initially in his role as General Manager of HAWE Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KG, before the company became a European Stockholding Company (SE - Societas Europaea) in September 2008.
From 1994 to 1996 he was Head of International Sales at HAWE Hydraulik. In this capacity he laid the foundations for the company's international expansion.
His first experiences in the Asian region were with Barmag Far East Ltd. from Hong Kong, a subsidiary of the German textile machine manufacturer Barmag AG, where Karl Haeusgen held the post as controller of sales in the Asia-Pacific region from 1993 to 1994. Prior to this he worked as assistant to the Board of Management of MAHO AG, Pfronten, overseeing materials management.
Karl Haeusgen graduated from the University St. Gallen, Switzerland with a degree in business administration. Parallel to his studies he worked from 1990 to 1991 as assistant to Prof. Dr. Thomas Dyllick at the Institute for Business Administration, in the department for ecological business management.
Karl Haeusgen is the major shareholder in the family-owned company HAWE Hydraulik SE and grandson of Karl Heilmeier, one of the two company founders.
He is Vice President of the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineers (VDMA - Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.).
In addition, he sits on the Advisory Board of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH, Regensburg-Reinhausen.
His spare time is taken up by his commitments on the Board member for the endowment "Lyrik Kabinett München" (Lyric cabinet Munich; www.lyrik-kabinett.de), a non-profit association for the promotion of German and international lyrics. In 2012 he assumed the role as Supervisory Board Chairman for the Munich-based child welfare association "Kinderschutz e.V." (www.kinderschutz.de).
Karl Haeusgen is married and father of three children.
